The trio: intimate and versatile
A trio (vocals, keys or guitar, and bass or drums) is the lightest and most flexible lineup. It's ideal for:
- A cocktail hour or wine reception, where you want a subtle sound in the background
- A secular ceremony, to accompany key moments without overwhelming the space
- A smaller venue, such as a terrace, a small room, or a private garden
Main advantage: quick and simple setup, a sound footprint suited to smaller spaces, and a more accessible budget.
Limitation: less stage impact, and a repertoire that's necessarily more limited than with a larger lineup.
The quartet: the balance between intimacy and energy
The quartet (typically vocals, keys, bass and drums, sometimes with guitar added) is often considered the most versatile lineup. It allows you to:
- Move smoothly from a relaxed cocktail hour into a lively dance party
- Cover a broader repertoire, from soul classics to current pop
- Adapt to both a mid-sized wedding and a corporate evening
Main advantage: an excellent balance between stage energy and logistical flexibility. It's often the lineup we recommend for a classic wedding with 80 to 150 guests. Limitation: still less impressive than a full band for a very large venue or a bigger crowd.
The full band: maximum stage experience
Coffee Tone's full band can bring together lead and backing vocals, guitar, bass, drums, keys, and depending on the lineup, saxophone, trumpet or violin. It's the lineup to choose for:
- A large wedding or reception with a busy dance floor
- A prestigious corporate event (gala evening, company anniversary, product launch)
- A concert or public event where stage and sound impact need to be at their peak
Main advantage: an unmatched richness of sound and stage presence, carried by horns and vocal harmonies.
Limitation: requires more stage space, more substantial technical setup, and a higher budget.
